With the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan and Azercell, one of the world's most prestigious international robotics competitions, RobotChallenge, was held in Azerbaijan for the first time. The event took place on June 13–14, 2026, at the Baku Crystal Hall, bringing together more than 600 participants and over 200 teams.
This remarkable event became an important platform where young engineers, programmers, and technology enthusiasts could demonstrate their knowledge, creativity, and technical skills. The winners of the competition earned the opportunity to represent Azerbaijan at the international RobotChallenge Grand Final in China.
Maestro School at RobotChallenge Azerbaijan
Maestro School proudly participated in this historic competition with a team in the Mini Sumo category.
Mini Sumo is one of the most exciting robotics categories, where autonomous robots compete inside a circular arena, attempting to push their opponent out of the ring. Success requires a combination of speed, engineering precision, programming skills, and strategic thinking.
Our students designed their robot entirely from scratch, built its mechanical structure, programmed its sensors, and tested it in a real competition environment. Throughout this journey, they strengthened their analytical thinking, teamwork, problem-solving abilities, and engineering mindset.
RobotChallenge – A Valuable Learning Experience
RobotChallenge Azerbaijan 2026 became an incredible learning opportunity for our team.
During the competition, our students:
- Designed and built their robot from scratch;
- Applied Mini Sumo mechanics and programming in a real-world environment;
- Gained valuable experience by competing alongside more than 600 participants;
- Improved their teamwork, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills;
- Became part of the first-ever RobotChallenge competition held in Azerbaijan.
This experience has created a strong foundation for future engineering projects and international robotics competitions.
What Is RobotChallenge?
RobotChallenge is one of the world's largest international open robotics competitions. It features multiple categories, including Mini Sumo, Line Follower, Maze Solver, Humanoid Robot, and many others.
Each category challenges participants to apply different engineering, programming, and robotics skills while encouraging innovation, creativity, and technical excellence.
Hosting RobotChallenge in Azerbaijan for the first time marks another significant milestone in the country's growing focus on STEM education, robotics, and technological innovation.
Robotics Education at Maestro School
At Maestro School, robotics education goes far beyond simply building robots. Students gradually develop both theoretical knowledge and practical engineering skills through project-based learning.
Our robotics program includes:
- Fundamentals of robotics and mechatronics;
- Electronics and sensor technologies;
- Robot programming using Python;
- Team-based engineering projects and real-world problem solving;
- Preparation for international robotics competitions such as RobotChallenge, ROBOTEX, NEO Science, and others.
The curriculum is designed for children aged 6 and above, with learning paths adapted to each student's age and experience.
Looking Ahead to International Competitions
The winners of RobotChallenge Azerbaijan 2026 will proudly represent Azerbaijan at the international finals in China.
At Maestro School, we congratulate all the teams representing our country and believe that the knowledge and experience our students gained during this competition will inspire even greater achievements in future international events.
Congratulations to Our Team
We sincerely congratulate our Mini Sumo team for their dedication, perseverance, and engineering achievements at RobotChallenge Azerbaijan 2026.
Participating in an international competition of this level is not only an opportunity to demonstrate technical skills but also to gain valuable experience, develop confidence, and take another important step toward becoming future engineers and technology leaders.
RobotChallenge Azerbaijan 2026 has become one of the country's most significant robotics and STEM events, bringing together talented young innovators and inspiring the next generation of engineers.
Maestro School is proud to have been part of this historic competition and believes that every experience gained through real-world challenges contributes to future success.
